Hopkins has been chosen as a Commonwealth Export Champion.

Leeds-based distributor Hopkins has been selected to become a Commonwealth Export Champion for the prestigious Commonwealth First Export Programme.

Representing various regions of the UK and business sectors, the 26 selected companies were chosen because of their depth of ambition, innovation, quality and the impact that they will have across the Commonwealth markets.

Hopkins will now benefit from access to high level networking and introductions, training, mentoring and tailored trade missions to Malaysia and other Commonwealth countries.

Lord Marland, chairman of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, said: “This programme is a wonderful way of demonstrating both the ingenuity of British businesses and the huge opportunities in Commonwealth markets. We hope these companies will serve as ambassadors for other UK businesses looking to trade internationally.”

Hopkins’ MD, Victoria Hopkins, commented: “I am incredibly honoured that Hopkins was chosen to be part of this fantastic initiative. The opportunities that now lie ahead are incredible and I am very much looking forward to working with all those involved.

“The Commonwealth has 52 member countries, many of whom share a common language and legal and financial systems – which makes it a great place to trade. Exporting can be a daunting prospect to many businesses, especially SMEs, but the support we will receive from being part of this programme is invaluable.”
