A kitchen maintenance firm set up three years ago has triumphed in a local business awards competition.
WAM Engineering Services, which provides installation, servicing, and repair solutions for the catering and hospitality sector, landed the ‘Start-Up Business of the Year’ at the Swansea Bay Business Awards.
The business was founded three years ago by ex-Royal Navy engineer Alistair Green and has rapidly established itself as a trusted partner for a diverse clientele, ranging from small coffee shops to major pub brands.
The business name carries personal significance for Mr Green as it contains his initial and that of his young son Mason, as well as the initial of his brother Will, whose untimely passing deeply shaped his mission.
“Losing my brother to suicide was a profound turning point in my life,” Mr Green reflected. “Will and Mason inspire me daily to persevere, especially during challenging times in the business.”
Since its inception, WAM Engineering has experienced significant growth, now employing a dedicated team of seven professionals and operating four service vans across Wales and the South West.
Many team members share Alistair’s military background, bringing a disciplined and professional approach to their work.
“Winning this award is a testament to our team’s dedication and hard work,” Mr Green commented. “From day one, we’ve committed to delivering exceptional service to our clients, and I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come, however, this is just the beginning for WAM Engineering Services, so watch this space.”
