Bradford-based refrigeration equipment supplier Epta UK has recently donated three chest freezers to a local church.
Fountains Church is a Christian church based in Bradford city centre, working with its team of volunteers to support the people living in the local area.
One of the ways the religious institution supports the local community is by redistributing surplus food from supermarkets, local shops and wholesalers to local foodbanks, it also prepares its own ready meals at the church and shares them with those who are facing poverty.
Epta UK posted on its LinkedIn page: “We are very pleased to have been able to been able to provide Fountains Church with three of our freezers, helping to support them with the important work they do for our local community.”
Duncan Milwain, director of social enterprises at Fountains Church, said: “A big thank you from the Grace Kitchen team at Fountains Church Bradford for the very generous gift of three chest freezers.
“In our first 12 months we rescued over 65 tons of food that would otherwise have gone to waste and we provided thousands of meals to those most in need in the city. These additional freezers will help us expand our work over the next year.”
