Zumex extends juicing machine range to pomegranates

Zumex’s new Speed pomegranate juicer can manage 30 pieces of fruit per minute.

Juicing machine specialist Zumex has designed its first professional pomegranate juicer, the Speed.

The company has developed what it believes is an efficient juicing system which includes a titanium blade, a filtering system and a motor to create ready-to-drink pomegranate juice.

The hardness and thickness of pomegranate peel can make it difficult to eat, but Zumex feels that now thanks to its solution, freshly squeezed pomegranate juice can be a fast and easy option.

To achieve this, the firm has designed the autonomous juicer from scratch, with over 100kg of non-stop production, claimed to be the highest figure for a juicer without the need for an operator.

To reach these figures, the machines are fitted with a new juicing system for pomegranates based on the patented ‘Original System’, this time in a deep-red colour, which has been specifically designed to tackle the thickness and hardness of this fruit’s resistant peel. This system also has an accessory S Kit for juicing smaller fruit, thus catering for a wide range of fruit sizes.

Victor Bertolin, CEO of Zumex, commented: “Freshly squeezed pomegranate juice is set to become a global consumption trend with which we intend to revolutionise the fresh produce area of supermarkets around the world once again.”

Fitted components include a hardwearing titanium blade which is said to offer excellent cutting and stay sharper for longer. Plus a new automatic ‘Pulp-Out’ system was designed exclusively for pomegranates. This conveyor belt has been designed to automatically filter seeds and pulp from the pomegranates.

Furthermore, the powerful motor to provide is claimed to provide a fast juice service (30 pieces of fruit per minute) in high-demand environments. Finally, Zumex’s exclusive ASP antibacterial technology assists with food safety.
