The Zerica Sikélia Touch water dispenser uses IoT to monitor unit telemetry.

Beverage dispenser specialist Zerica has given the industry a sneak peak of one of its new launches due to be revealed at Host Milan in October.

The latest water cooler and dispenser, Sikélia Touch is internet-connected and designed to be sustainable by being energy efficient and utilising no single-use plastic.

Using innovative multi-award winning technology which received numerous prizes in 2018 for energy efficiency and sustainability, the Sikélia Touch is similar to the ultra-slim Kolumna H2O Touch.

Other features include: programmable energy-saving periods; free-flow and portion control options; mobile app and NFC payments.

These machines use IoT telemetry to display technical metrics on a dashboard, run remote diagnostics and allow remote modification of operational parameters, all via a dedicated internet portal.

Said to be unique to this market, this remote monitoring and management with two-way communication should mean end users can control their drinking from their phone or desk.

A solution for canteen, hotels and conferences, events and catering, the unit is 100% made in Italy with ‘cutting-edge’ design and technology.
