Refrigeration distributor Cold Temp Refrigeration Services has pledged to build a new showroom as part of a move to attract more trade.
The Hull-based outfit intends to open the facility at a secondary office it has in Scarborough.
Kim Ruston, who runs the business with her husband Mike, said that with many refrigeration dealers no longer running showrooms she hoped it would be a point of difference.
“We want to do this so customers can see what they are buying, rather than just having a brochure to look through,” she told the Hull Daily Mail.
Cold Temp has not set a date for opening the showroom, but Ruston wants to complete the project this year.
She told the paper that the new space would be created underneath Cold Temp Refrigeration’s upstairs offices.
“This will be really good and is very exciting for our business. People like to see things before they order, so we think this is a good thing for us to do and we hope this addition will bring in new customers.”
Cold Temp has had the Scarborough office for eight years after it took over local firm Refrigeration Engineering when the previous owner retired.
The company was founded more than 20 years ago to serve the East Yorkshire area, but now operates on a national basis.
It offers chilled displays, cabinets, cold rooms, frozen storage, ice machines and shelving.
