YCE lit up by London fire station project

The latest project by Leeds-based YCE Catering Equipment at The Fire Station, in London’s Waterloo, has left the company fired with a sense of achievement.

YCE designed and installed the new restaurant kitchen for the iconic LCC fire station building in London SE1 and also provided a full project management service to the client.

Lyndon Moorby, of YCE Catering Equipment commented yesterday to Premier Construction: “This is a flagship site and one which we believed we could help our client find a solution to meet their needs.

“The logistics involved with this site being in central London were challenging, however something we were not afraid to approach head on.

“We met every challenge put to us and have provided a solution we are very proud of.”

The Fire Station offers a menu covering breakfast, lunch and dinner centred around wood-fired pizzas and innovative burger creations.

Two wood fired pizza ovens are immediately visible as diners enter the restaurant, with their flames adding to the ambience.

The iconic fire station on Waterloo Road was built in 1910 and interior designer Concorde BGW, which also supplied the lighting, has taken pains to preserve the integrity of the original purpose of the building, celebrating the heritage rather than masking it."
