Website lays bare kitchen cleaning truths

Grease management and ventilation cleaning firm Swiftclean has revamped its website in a move that it hopes will demystify some of the maintenance challenges that kitchen operators face.

As well as detailing its own expertise, the Essex-based company has paid particular attention to providing extensive information on operator responsibility and regulatory compliance.

The company says its intention is to give the industry the information it needs “in plain English, with a minimum of jargon”. Additionally, the site is divided into sub-categories such as ‘kitchen extract cleaning’ and ‘sector-specific solutions’ so that users can navigate to their preferred destination straight away.

The website is mobile-enabled, meaning that it automatically sizes to the mobile devise being used, which makes it easier for facilities managers on the move to access compliance advice.

Swiftclean’s managing director, Gary Nicholls, said he hoped the site would help operators to get to grips with the implications of poor kitchen maintenance, particularly in terms of the risks of fire outbreaks and insurance validation.

“Proper records, high standards of maintenance and regular professional cleaning will minimise the risk to businesses, properties and, most importantly, human life,” he said. “We hope that our website will help people without our specialist knowledge to understand more clearly their responsibilities and how our expert services can assist in meeting them.”
