Marco Beverage Systems claims that independent tests have revealed that the company has been ‘vastly understating’ the energy efficiency of its T10 Ecoboiler model.
With equipment manufacturers keen to out-score each other on the power consumption front at the moment, Marco insists even its technical team were surprised at the extent to which the product’s energy saving capabilities were being under-sold.
Irish firm Compliance Engineering conducted a series of energy consumption tests involving the Ecoboiler T10 and what Marco says was the “equivalent model” from five competitors.
It did not give details of the competing models used during the research, but said that it came out on top in each test, using 37% less electricity than the next best boiler and 56% less than the worst.
The overall conclusion made by Compliance Engineering, was that, based on regular daily use, the Ecoboiler T10 could save caterers up to £494 in a single year on the running cost of just one boiler. On a site with multiple water boilers, the savings would run into tens of thousands of pounds.
“These figures are well ahead of the estimates we made before the research was conducted,” admitted marketing manager, Cathal Burke. “It proves emphatically what we have been saying for years: that the purchase price is just a small part of the overall cost of a water boiler.”
