Vito UK is powering forward under new ownership after directors Iain and Kim Addison completed a share buyout of the business.
The pair now owns 100% of the business, which supplies commercial oil filtration systems to restaurants, after agreeing a deal with former shareholder Rob Frank.
“Discussions have been ongoing and Rob has been looking to retire to pursue his hobbies, in particular building his own plane and flying it,” explained Mrs Addison. “Rob has been an intricate part of Vito UK Ltd and shall be missed, but Rob being Rob will always be on hand if we ever need any advice.”
Vito’s head office in Germany has been “very supportive” of the move, according to Mrs Addison, who said the change in shareholding would not signal a dramatic shift in strategy.
“Our focus has always been to get the brand out there and concentrate on market penetration in all our customer sectors. In particular we are pushing forward in the fish and chip industry with the support of the NFFF, where the V80 has been hugely successful and now with the new generation 3 V80. With an even more powerful twin rota pump and a whopping 2.5 kg particle take-up, this area is moving in the right direction.”
Mrs Addison feels it is a good time for the business, given the current emphasis among operators on designing kitchens to be more energy efficient. Vito’s systems promise reduced oil consumption, less oil changes and lower cleaning efforts.
The company has just redeveloped its website and enhanced its web shop, while a recent partnership with wholesaler Uropa Distribution is designed to make it easier for dealers to get hold of its products.
Mrs Addison said the investment it has made in its online capabilities offers dealers a huge amount of sales and marketing collateral.
“The idea with the new website was to make it more professional, informative and user-friendly. People don’t want to trawl through pages of information – less is more so to speak. There are videos, spec sheets and manuals next to each product as a free download,” she said.
