Vito goes the Wembley way

Norfolk-based Vito has fitted two of its X1 vacuum system oil filters and oil testers in the kitchens of Wembley Stadium, with a further installation due imminently.

“With 19 kitchens containing 120 fryers, Wembley needed to solve an oil problem,” said Vito’s sales director, Iain Addison.

The order came about thanks to CE Facilities, which manages the maintenance of the stadium, and Vito then worked in conjunction with oil waste collector, Arrow Oils.

“The X1 transports oil safely to the pumps and deposited in the bins,” explained Addison. “Once it works at Wembley it opens the door to other UK stadiums too, as CE Facilities looks after them all – we’ve already had interest from Emirates.”

Delivery, installation and training took just two hours, with each mobile X1 measuring 600 x 600 x 750mm.

The unit enables no manual handling of hot oil as the oil is vacuumed from the fryers while they are hot. The oil is then decanted into secure disposable containers for transportation to a waste recycling centre.

Maximum capacity of the X1 is 80 litres, which it can process in about three and a half to four minutes. Filtered oil can be re-used in fryers, which can prolong oil life and reduce costs for kitchens.
