Vic Laws collects MBE from the Queen

FCSI consultant Vic Laws has been at Windsor Castle today to collect his MBE from the Queen.

Laws was named a Member of the Order of the British Empire earlier this year for his ‘services to the hospitality sector’.

Honours lists are traditionally published twice a year at New Year and in June on the date of The Queen’s birthday.

He tweeted this morning: “Great to meet the Queen at Windsor Castle today.”

Laws is currently administrator of the FCSI UK & Ireland and founder of AVL, one of the leading food service consultancies.

Since the inception of competitive tendering and benchmarking, the company has provided expert services to local authorities, colleges and universities.

The company also provides expert catering advice for PFI projects and staff catering for business and industry clients.

Prior to setting up AVL in 1986, Laws worked for Spinneys, ARA, Compass and Forte’s airport companies.
