Catering equipment supplier Valera has carried out two wine library installations worth a total of £40,000 at Radisson Blu hotels in Cardiff and Bristol.
Valera supplied and installed a wine library and wine walls to replace dated upright wine chillers at both sites.
The project was carried out in conjunction with distributors HCE and Integral and means the wine will now be displayed in the most effective way.
The units are built into an existing restaurant area and are designed to give a more sophisticated ambience as well as increasing wine sales.
Kurran Gadhvi, marketing manager at Valera, said one of the biggest challenges of the project was transporting such large items of equipment up the stairs and into the main restaurant.
“This was a task that required a great deal of skill and precision in order to ensure that none of the equipment was damaged,” he explained. “Essentially Valera had to de-construct the units — including de-gassing the compressors and removing all glass — at the foot of the stairs, transport them to the restaurant and then reassemble them and install them at their final location.”
