Valentine has donated a number of fryer baskets to the Africa Mercy, a hospital ship which provides free urgent medical procedures and community development services to third world countries.
The ship has catering facilities on board to provide meals for the 400 volunteer surgeons, doctors, nurses, engineers and cleaners that dedicate their time to the charity.
The catering team needed a number of replacement baskets for the current Valentine fryers it has installed, which the manufacturer provided for free.
Bob Witherall, managing director of Valentine Equipment, said the value of the equipment was around £600.
“When we were made aware that the Africa Mercy required some replacement equipment we were more than happy to oblige. The charity not only improves but saves the lives of people in desperate need of medical attention.”
The Africa Mercy is currently moored in the West African country of Guinea, which sits at the bottom of the Human Development Index.
