Vacancy: marketing manager, First Choice Group


Catering spare parts and training specialist, the First Choice Group, is looking to recruit a new marketing manager at its Cannock headquarters.

The marketing manager will be responsible for managing, leading, co-ordinating and developing the organisation’s marketing strategy and plans. They must have knowledge of a wide range of marketing techniques, be dynamic and have strong commercial awareness.

This is a hands-on role working with and managing a small marketing team to deliver the full marketing mix. It requires an excellent communicator who possesses strong organisational and project management skills. The aim is to ensure the marketing strategy is effective in projecting the image of the company in line with the First Choice Mission & Core Values.

Key Duties

  • Responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive marketing and communication function to promote the organisation
  • Drive product awareness and growth through creation and execution of digital marketing campaigns and activities
  • Develop the marketing strategy for the company in line with company objectives, monitor and report results to senior managers/directors
  • Manage, lead and motivate the marketing team
  • Overall responsibility for brand management and corporate identity
  • Customer relationship management – including producing/maintaining existing and potential customer records
  • Manage marketing campaigns with sales activities
  • Explore ways of improving existing products and services
  • Implement, maintain and improve the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001:2015
  • Track and analyse competitors’ products and services
  • Plan and manage the production of promotional material including catalogues and brochures
  • Work closely with design agencies and assist with new product launches
  • Co-ordinate event management – attend trade shows, exhibitions and conferences
  • Oversee photography of product and external/social activities
  • Control of commercial gifts and promotional products
  • Manage the marketing budget
  • Monitor and report on effectiveness of marketing communications
  • Liaise with other departments such as internal/external sales
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture within the business
  • Fulfil objectives/targets set by the directors and flexibility in-line with the needs of the business

Essential Skills

  • Marketing/PR degree with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • CIM qualification
  • A strong understanding of digital and social media marketing channels
  • A proven track record of success within digital marketing
  • Proficient in social media content marketing theory and its application
  • Passionate about digital and online marketing media
  • Capable of optimising the effectiveness of digital marketing platforms
  • High level of copy-writing and editing skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • People management skills
  • Drive, motivation, and creative thinking
  • Able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills
  • Negotiation skills and ability to make decisions
  • Strong commercial awareness
