Upnorth Foodservice Equipment has paid tribute to the region’s top chefs at the North East Culinary Trade Association’s (NECTA) annual awards ceremony.
Blaydon-based Upnorth supported the two-day event by supplying catering equipment for eight cooking stations used in a series of live ‘cook offs’ at Newcastle Civic Centre.
Upnorth’s sales executive Tom Cummings, a NECTA committee member for seven years and former chairman when it was known as the Catering Managers Association, said the awards played an important part in recognising kitchen talent in the North East.
“I speak on behalf of the company directors when I say Upnorth Group is honored to have played a role in supporting an event, which nurtures catering talent in our region,” he said. “Our combined experience in all areas of the industry means we not only feel passionate about it, but that we are best placed to supply and offer equipment advice and supply when talking to chefs and catering specialists.”
Upnorth specialises in providing a range of services in refrigeration, air-conditioning, food service technologies and ventilation systems to the commercial market.
