Upnorth rebrands and moves

The distributor formerly known as Upnorth Foodservice Equipment has been renamed as GastroNorth, in a move coinciding with relocation.

GastroNorth remains an independent business, and part of the overall Upnorth Group banner. “In order to improve brand identity and provide clarity on the operational expertise of the individual companies within the Upnorth Group, we have taken the opportunity to rebrand our business,” GastroNorth said in a statement.

“We hope the rebranding provides clearer lines of communication with customers and suppliers who were previously unfamiliar with the group structure and the different Upnorth companies operating within it.”

Due to sizeable growth, the group has moved from premises in Blaydon to Merlin House in the Team Valley, Gateshead. The state of the art office facility houses 100 employees, conference rooms, meeting areas, a break-out kitchen area and spacious open office hot desks.

GastroNorth director Tim Whitfield commented: “Moving into Merlin House has been a refreshing change for us all, and the team has embraced the move. The office decor has been designed to be professional, fresh and modern in reflection to our overall company image.

“We love inviting clients in to see us and we are proud of what we have. The next stage of development is to create our own commercial kitchen area which we are aiming to complete in the coming months.”
