The company responsible for marketing heavy duty cooking equipment brand Olis in the UK has revealed plans to construct a distribution network that will protect dealers’ margins by offering them regional exclusivity.
Universal FSE, which recently began working with Ali Group-owned Olis and has represented sister company Baron for the past 11 years, intends to develop a distribution framework that partners will find financially attractive.
Roger Flanagan, managing director of Universal, says the firm will kick off its partner recruitment efforts at next week’s Restaurant Show.
“We are setting up an exclusive distribution chain of no more than 12 UK distributors with exclusive regions, so that they can retain margin and avoid competition from websites or other competitors with the same product nearby,” he explained.
The push for distribution partners will be accompanied by the launch of new heavy duty ‘compact’ cooking equipment for restaurants with limited space.
“This 700 series has all the elements a kitchen might need in both gas and electric, and from induction to high performance ranges,” said Flanagan.
Olis has also developed a new range of combination ovens which will be offered to distributors at “very attractive launch prices”, he added.
