At Host this year, the management team of Universal Foodservice Equipment, Tony Aris and Roger Flanagan, were invited to be the judges of a chefs’ competition held on the live cooking area of the Baron stand.
These chefs came from the famous International Cooking School, IFSE of Turin and were asked to create their dishes on one piece of equipment only, the Baron Talent programmable bratt pan suited with an adjacent worktop.
Chefs were not only marked on their presentation and cooking skills, but their varied use of the Talent units which were used to the full by all the chefs which included shallow frying, steaming, sous vide regeneration, plancha and pan work.
Universal felt the standard of cuisine was of the highest calibre and the winner really justified his position.
Sales director Tony Aris commented: “This was a really exciting honour to be asked to judge for such a prestige cooking school and particularly given that the students were allowed only one piece of Baron equipment to cook on. Both the students and the Talent performed perfectly.”
