Universal moves ahead with long term school upgrade

Supplier, Universal Foodservice Equipment, is in the midst of a 5 year contract to provide cooking, refrigeration and warewashing equipment to Chelmsford College in Essex.

The Surrey-based firm is the exclusive distributor of Ali Group brand Baron in the UK and for this project it is supplying equipment including combination ovens and the brand’s new heat recovery dishwashers. Distributor Swift Catering Equipment is overseeing the outfit.

Baron also supplied its latest addition to the 900 series heavy duty line, the new gas wok, to add to its induction wok products. This is said to have very high power with a 16kW burner and a permanent water bath (solenoid operated). The 90PCV/GWOK model is mounted in a range-matched cabinet.

Following the installation of the first three kitchens last August, this year another kitchen is due for an upgrade.

Furthermore, Baron has launched the Multipoint induction unit in two zone, four zone and tabletop formats. The 4 x 5kW 90PCV/IND800 model is said to be able to accommodate more pans on a single surface, enabling a reduced footprint. These are similar to the units recently installed at Lord’s Cricket Ground by KCCJ of Dartford.

Roger Flanagan, MD of Universal Foodservice Equipment commented: “These steps are just part of the excellent Baron development programme, bringing new ideas to the market, and prove the continuing drive by Baron for ongoing improvement will be of benefit to all.”
