First in Service has secured new catering equipment maintenance contracts that deepen its ties in the university sector, the company has announced.

The Birmingham-based outfit said it was enjoying a strong end to the year, with the latest catering maintenance deals complementing jobs it has picked up for mechanical works.

It recently landed a four-year contract from the University of York after a full tender exercise, as well as gaining the right to service all of the catering and refrigeration equipment at Aston University.

The latest deals sit alongside others in the sector, including the University of Hertfordshire, the University of Coventry and the University of Reading, which is a four-year contract that started last year.

Outside of the higher education sector it does work for Prezzo, Tragus Restaurants, RoadChef, the Prison Service and Debenhams.
