Germany is still the dominant force in European retail and commercial refrigeration equipment, according to a new study.
But the UK is hot on its heels based on a Research and Markets report analysing 2013-2019 refrigeration trends.
“Germany is anticipated to retain its dominance throughout the forecast period due to the growing expansion activities of popular retail chains in this region,” said the company.
“However, challenges such as environmental regulations and energy efficiency concerns are hindering market growth.”
The report says that the rising trend of people dining out and purchasing frozen foods at supermarkets is leading to the growth in sales of equipment for commercial refrigeration purpose.
Among all the product types, refrigerators and freezers and transport refrigeration are the fastest growing segments with a collective revenue share of more than 36%. This is attributed to expanding beverage production facilities, along with a rise in export and consumption.
Research and Market said that the commercial refrigeration equipment market contains “many renowned players”, such as Viessmann Group, Hoshizaki, Frigoglass, Hussmann, Ingersoll Rand, Carrier and Metalfrio Solutions and Interlevin Refrigeration.
“Of these, FrigoGlass and Carrier are considered to have dominant position in the market” it stated.
