UK knife launch for Dick

Catering wholesaler RB Distributors has introduced Dick’s Active Cut range of knives to the UK market.

Made in Deizisau, Germany by the same family since 1778, Dick has a worldwide reputation for producing high quality knives.

The Active Cut range is constructed from stainless steel and laser tested to ensure accurate cutting.

The design is claimed to have the appeal of a forged knife, yet offers a seamless connection between a straight steel blade and lightweight handle. This combination results in a balanced knife which is designed to be durable and hygienic, leaving no grooves for bacteria to grow.

Double final honing of the knives should ensure sharpness; whilst a half bolster enables the whole blade to be re-sharpened if required. The black handles are abrasion proof and non-slip, but are ergonomically designed for a comfortable grip.

Highlights from the range include a Santoku Knife (GL212) with scalloped blade for quick slicing. The pockets of air caused by the indents create a non-stick surface allowing food to fall from the blade –for fast and efficient prepping.

Also available is an 8” Chefs Knife (GL213). It performs a multitude of tasks, including cutting vegetables, tenderising and flattening meat and chopping herbs.

Other knives in the range include a 7” Flexible Fillet Knife (GL210), Boning Knife (GL209), Slicer Knife (GL211) Serrated Bread Knife (GL214), 10” Utility Knife (GL215) and 3 ½” Paring Knife (GL208).
