Senior Hargreaves, a provider of ventilation ductwork solutions for use in commercial restaurants and other sectors, has been sold to German engineering firm M+W Group.
Tim Hopkinson, CEO of Senior Hargreaves, said the change in ownership was a “positive step forward” in the development of the business and enable it to grow the company.
“This move will facilitate the ongoing development of our product portfolio and, crucially, investment in the business and the skills of our people that can further strengthen our position at the forefront of the industry,” he said.
M+W Group is headquartered in Germany but has an existing UK office based in Chippenham. The company employs more than 7,000 people and last year generated sales of £2 billion. It is regarded as one of the world’s largest engineering, construction and project management firms.
Bury-based Senior Hargreaves has been trading for more than 140 years and its name has become synonymous with ventilation ductwork.
It is also a leading manufacturer and distributor of high quality ventilation and air conditioning solutions, providing equipment for countless kitchen and restaurant projects over the years.
