Turbo boost for Carpigiani

Carpigiani has launched the Turbomix, a high-powered blender and homogeniser designed for making homemade ice cream mix. The new mixer can whisk, blend and emulsify to create the homemade mixes.

In addition to an ice cream base, the Turbomix is said to be able to create a smooth and consistent texture for a number of other confectionary products, including pastry cream, fruit purees and emulsions. The optional cutter attachment aids the chopping of large fruit such as apples and pears.

A 12,000rpm motor and variable speed control, enables the operator to select the programme best suited to their desired mix. Combined with the latest blade technology the Turbomix can produce 5litres of smooth pastry mix in 30 seconds, dissolve ingredients into cold water or milk for an ice cream base in approximately 60 seconds or a completely emulsified mix from single ingredients in 120 seconds.

The two-handed design is claimed to allow easy operation and ensures safety in the kitchen, as the unit only runs when the operator has both hands on the handles.

The design features a vertical lift and fall motion and a horizontal oscillating movement to fully absorb the ingredients in the mix. A control panel puts all the functions at easy reach including the on/off switch, timer programme and pre-set blending time. An emergency stop button is positioned at the top of the unit and will bring the motor to an immediate stop when activated.

The variable speed motor is operated by adjusting the speed using the controls located directly on the handles. After ten second of continuous contact the machine will operate automatically at the desired/preferred speed until the set program is complete.

Scott Duncan, sales director at Carpigiani UK commented: “The new Turbomix offers outstanding levels of versatility which allows operators the chance to carry out a multitude of tasks from whisking to blending and chopping fruit; all with the one piece of equipment.

“With a user-friendly control panel and variable-speed motor operators can be confident the unit will deliver consistent, smooth mixes every time and outstanding, creamy and full of flavour gelato and sorbetto mixes that will be adored by customers of all ages!”
