True does the trick for Edinburgh restaurant

Cooling Solutions of Livingston has fitted a series of refrigeration equipment from True at The Magnum bar and restaurant in Edinburgh’s New Town district.

The company installed a True GDM9E glass door bottle cooler in the back bar and a TGU4 undercounter four-door refrigeration unit in the main kitchen.

Chris Graham, owner of the restaurant, said he looked at more expensive refrigeration but specified True units for their build quality and design.

“The sliding door design means it fits easily into our narrow bar, and staff can get the bottles out without causing an obstruction,” he said.

The kitchen presents a tight working area and had to be well planned. To save space the top of the True undercounter refrigerator doubles as workspace.

“We can store the chilled products directly below the workspace and because it is a four-door model we can separate out the meat, fish, vegetables and desserts. It means everything is stored safely but is instantly accessible,” said Graham.

Cooling Services has specialised in the sale and servicing of commercial catering equipment for the past 15 years.

As well as True, it also serves as an agent for Interlevin, Hubbard and Foster.
