Marine interior fitout specialist Trimline has completed a programme to refit a trio of P&O Ferries which included the installation of Covid-safe catering areas.
Over the last 3 months the firm’s team carried out the Spirit of Britain refit in Rotterdam, the Spirit of France in Tilbury, and the Pride of Kent in Newcastle, UK.
Whilst working on the first ship, the team highlighted a specification change that needed implementing. Due to their teamwork and strong supplier relationship, Trimline was ready with the new solution in time for the refits onboard the second and third ships, which they finished ahead of schedule and to budget, but with no snags.
Each ship’s catering areas were outfitted with six Storers air wing chilled multidecks, two Flexeserve five-tier heated displays, custom fabricated units with Hawco ceran plates, and a custom cold well with cold and heated gantries.
Trimline project manager Antonio Pezzella said: “The team, both onboard and at head office, has been incredible from start to finish, helping us to exceed all scheduling and quality standards and deliver impressive refits across all three ships.”
Director of sales Simon Dawkins added: “This is the first time we have worked with P&O Ferries. Working on a new brand is always a learning curve, but our team has delivered an outstanding programme of refits, and we are delighted to have already been invited to work on other ships in the P&O Ferries fleet.”
