Tricon Foodservice Consultants is celebrating a major milestone as international project director John Downman completes 30 years working with the company.
Based in Tricon’s London office, Downman started with the firm as a management consultant, having previously been its client at The Barbican Centre, London. His early years were spent helping grow and develop the company’s management consultancy team, becoming a director of the business in 2003.
He has since focused on developing the Middle East markets where he now travels extensively on project work. In this role Downman leads the initial strategic development for high profile projects internationally and oversees the projects, delivering both management consultancy and design.
Commenting on his anniversary, Tricon’s MD Mike Coldicott said: “John has been a great asset to the business, acting selflessly throughout in the progression and development of the company. I have watched him grow and develop over the years to now being one of the most experienced and respected foodservice management consultants in the industry.”
Downman reflected: “I still get a buzz from new projects and their challenges. Consultancy can give us the privilege of seeing the inner workings of a project or organisation without becoming embroiled in the internal politics.
“Projects over the last 30 years have covered every sector where people eat outside of the home. The international projects mean we need also to understand and respect different cultural requirements and traditions. It continues to be a fascinating insight with new challenges.”
