Lincat’s sales department will see a change of leadership at the end of this year after it was confirmed this week that Tony Aston is stepping down.
Aston, the company’s UK sales director, will be retiring at the end of 2014 following 14 years with the catering equipment manufacturer.
Although his departure is still eight months away, Lincat is already making preparations to ensure a smooth handover.
Current national accounts chief Rob Gibson has been promoted to sales director designate and will take over the role permanently once Aston has retired.
Gibson has been with Lincat since 1999 and will work closely alongside Aston for the rest of the year, gradually assuming full responsibility for the UK sales function.
Lincat’s managing director Nick McDonald today paid tribute to Aston’s service to the company, saying he had made a “great contribution” to the growth of sales in the UK and Ireland.
When Aston joined the company, Lincat was turning over around £13m a year. Last year it achieved sales of more than £30m.
“He has established himself as a popular and respected figure, not only within the company, but also in the wider industry, having represented Lincat on the Council of CESA for many years,” said McDonald. “I would like to thank Tony for his dedicated and loyal service to the company and wish him a long and happy retirement.”
