Hobart Independent claims it is celebrating the most successful trading year in its history, with seven weeks of 2012 still to go.
The warewashing company, set up by Hobart to address the distributor channel, says it has opened accounts with 60 new dealers this year, taking the number of sales partners that have sold its products to more than 200.
Hobart Independent also says it has now exceeded the level of turnover that it achieved during the whole of last year. The company did not disclose the precise sales figures it has recorded so far, but earlier this year business manager Stuart Bester revealed the unit was hoping to achieve at least £4m.
Hobart Independent was set up nine years ago and markets the Bar Aid and Ecomax ranges.
Bester claims that many of the new accounts Hobart Independent is now working with have switched allegiances from rival brands.
“Hobart Independent is benefiting from the fact that at a time when offering value is more crucial than ever, caterers are looking for the best quality equipment at a price to suit their operations,” he commented. “It has been a fantastic year for us — to achieve so much is a real cause for celebration and we’re extremely positive about business prospects going forward.”
Hobart Independent has sought to simplify the engagement process for dealers by creating a three-tier pricing structure for dealers and establishing an internet sales policy designed to preserve margins.
It has also added two channel sales staff to its team throughout the past 12 months.
“We are always looking to attract new dealers through a total package that reflects the specific needs of this trading channel and will continue to build on our success and enhance our offering,” concluded Bester.
