ALS Group Service is now in creditors’ voluntary liquidation.

The service arm of Conwy-based dealer ALS Catering Group has entered creditors’ voluntary liquidation, according to a notice posted on the London Gazette website.

The post detailed that a special resolution was passed at a general meeting of ALS Group Service instructing “that the company be wound up voluntarily”.

Brendan Hogan of Bolton-headquartered Anderson Brookes Insolvency Practitioners was appointed as the liquidator to wind the business up. Catering Insight contacted the liquidator but they did not wish to comment on the case.

ALS Group Service was a service partner for brands including Sammic, Blue Seal and Instanta for the North Wales, Wrexham and Chester areas.

The overall ALS Catering Group supplies equipment from manufacturers such as Blue Seal, Sammic, Regale, Instanta, Electrolux, Retigo, Adande, Cuppone, Mono, Precision, Victor and Lincat.

On Companies House, it states that both the ALS Group Sales and ALS Catering Group companies are still in operation. However, the group website and Twitter account have been deactivated and the phone line is unmanned.

Alan Smith is listed as MD of all group companies, and also established a firm called Mercury Catering Engineers in February, though there are no contact details available for this entity other than a London address listing. Catering Insight has been unable to reach him for comment.

ALS Group Service was first established in 2008 as ALS Commercial Catering Engineers, before changing to its current name in 2017.
