This year’s The Restaurant Show is once again playing host to the Great New Idea competition, which recognises innovative ideas and ingenious inventions in the hospitality industry.
Entries are open to all exhibitors, while winners are decided by votes from show attendees and an expert panel at London’s Olympia on 3-5 October, with the best concepts being announced on the final day.
Catering equipment has featured extensively in the entries, with Pentland Wholesale submitting its Simag SMI80 crushed ice machine.
This newly designed ice machine produces crushed ice that’s suitable for cocktails and long drinks thanks to its freezer and extruder.
This delivers very hard and dry ice with only 8% of residual water content which can last longer in alcoholic drinks.
RH Hall has entered the New Covent Garden Soup Server, which is designed to offer fresh tasting soup anywhere, anytime.
CED Fabrications is entering its Designline Heated Patisserie, a free standing hot patisserie allowing the illumination, heat and display of pre-heated, cooked grab and go food.
This invention uses static and fan blown hot air, maintaining product temperature between 65-75°C in a surrounding 20°C.
Furthermore, Winterhalter has put forwards its range of undercounter dishwashers, which can be adjusted to meet on-site conditions and provide optimal wash results.
Also in the mix will be Eau de Vie’s Medium Remote System, which enables restaurants to bottle their own unlimited, purified chilled still and sparkling water in house.
This under counter system is dispensed through bar-style taps.
