Telford catering equipment supplier Catering Centre UK (CCUK)expects to be firing on all cylinders in 2014 after investing more than £100,000 preparing the company for growth over the past 12 months.
A recent period of expansion has seen the business move to a larger head office, begin marketing to new clients and enlarge its 10-strong workforce. It has also stepped up its hire offering and had more than 30,000 items out on loan over the festive holidays.
Richard Davies, managing director of CCUK, said the foundations had been put in place to allow the business to kick on in 2014.
He told Midlands food website Eat: “It has been tough in recent years, and the catering industry has faced many challenges, but investing as we did over the past 12 months has meant we now have the most up-to-date and extensive range of both hire and purchase stock in the region, with a fully equipped showroom and our interactive test kitchen coming early 2014, alongside our online quoting and ordering systems.”
CCUK is a dealer for many large manufacturers, including Rational, Parry, Lincat, Falcon, Samsung, Gram, Hoshizaki, Robot Coupe and Maidaid.
Davies said CCUK would now seek to utilise its experience of the market to target customers that need kitchen planning and installation services, in addition to equipment supply.
It recently installed a £300,000 service centre kitchen for a major in-flight catering company in London. “We not only supply the equipment from ovens to pans, but also created the whole layout of the kitchens, extraction and even the work stations with conveyor packing solutions. We look forward to similarly large contracts which are coming on line in 2014,” Davies told the website.
Additionally, he said the company would shortly launch a new £35,000 website that will speed up the quotation and ordering processes, and facilitate online catering equipment purchase and hire.
