Inspire Commercial Kitchen Solutions has landed a £72,000 equipment contract in the oil and gas sector — it’s highest value deal since it launched the business at the start of last year.
The contract with North East oil rig refurbisher Able UK will see Stockton-on-Tees-based Inspire fit a canteen area within an old oil rig accommodation platform.
Once completed, the canteen area will be used to supply meals for contractors and also act as a showpiece for the client, enabling it to offer kitchen refits to offshore clients.
Partition walls are currently being erected on the site and once that is completed Inspire will have just over a month to complete the fit-out, reveals managing director Chris Stoker.
“A ventilation canopy with input plenum is being installed on Monday along with the chiller and freezer room, and we have a deadline of 25th May for completion,” he said. “We are installing all first and second fix electrics and gas in the kitchen area, so the main challenge is ensuring these are installed alongside builders’ works without disruption. All of the equipment is going to be craned up and into the second floor kitchen area by the client.”
The project will involve the installation of commercial catering equipment made by a range of brands, including an SCC101 cooking line from Rational and a bratt pan, six-burner ranges, salamander and twin tank fryers from Blue Seal.
Multideck refrigeration units and an upright fridge from Foster will also be installed, while Celltherm will supply the dual compartment chiller and freezer room.
The site’s dishwashing and tabling needs will be taken care of by Maidaid Halcyon. Additionally, S&S Northern will provide the gas interlock system.
Stoker called the contract “very significant” given the value and profile of it. “As well as turnover it adds another high profile client to our database and will potentially open more doors to the oil and gas industry,” he said.
