Extensive new catering facilities planned for the iconic Tate Modern on London’s South Bank are to be fitted by Chester kitchen house C&C Catering Equipment.
The results of an exhaustive tender process were revealed this week almost a year after the initial qualification round kicked off.
C&C’s project director, Paul Parry, described it as the “most rigorous” tender framework he has been involved in during 30 years in the industry.
The process involved six separate meetings to discuss the tender prior to shortlisting, followed by a final set of interviews attended by the entire project team.
Work will commence in the next few weeks, with C&C’s team expected to be on site until mid-2015.
The job involves equipping and installing two restaurants, cafe, coffee shop, bar area and private members dining facilities on six separate floors of the building.
C&C will be working together with main contractors MACE and foodservice design consultants SeftonHornWinch.
