Following the launch of its guide to recommissioning kitchens in May, kitchen design house TAG Catering Equipment has released a free-to-download interactive start-up checklist, designed to guide operators through the re-opening of their kitchens.
The interactive checklist is downloadable as a PDF and can be completed on a phone, tablet, or laptop. It is divided into the most common kitchen appliances and equipment, including gas interlocks, combi ovens, fryers, and refrigeration. It can also be printed and completed by hand if preferred.
Tyron Stephens-Smith, TAG’s project and creative director, commented: “As there is continued financial pressure on the hospitality industry, it is vital operators ensure their equipment doesn’t breakdown which would add further burden to re-opening.
“We have therefore designed the checklist so that operators can be as self-sufficient as possible when re-starting their kitchens.
“It will then highlight any potential issues that they should be able to get rectified by a suitably qualified equipment service and maintenance provider, for example if a gas interlock isn’t working correctly or a dishwasher is not reaching temperature.”
TAG believes it is important that operators re-start their kitchen in a systematic way, to ensure equipment is not compromised and is safe for future use.
