Catering equipment dealers TAG and Space have been named as official distributors of Mibrasa, the charcoal oven brand imported into the UK by Trident Catering Equipment.
Trident gained the Mibrasa contract earlier this year and after quickly signing up Peterborough-based A-Z Catering Equipment it has now added TAG and Space to the roster.
“Whilst I have the experience and resources to do so, unlike some other suppliers I do not target the end-user market directly as from the outset it has been my policy to only supply Mibrasa charcoal ovens via selected distributors and to remain loyal to them,” said Trident’s managing director Trevor Bell.
“I fully understand the importance of complete transparency and building trust, consistency and reliability into a working relationship and, as in any successful partnership, there will be communication between all parties involved and agreements are in place to protect all involved.”
Space will offer strong coverage for Mibrasa in the South West, while Hertfordshire-based TAG was chosen for its installation expertise and core knowledge of both the product and the competition.
“As TAG’s presence is predominately in London, that will be the core of their area and if dealers working in and around London are interested in the Mibrasa range or we receive an enquiry from an end-user then TAG will be the main contact,” says Bell. “As with our other distributors, this is very much a partnership with a common goal of supplying a quality product into the market place at a very competitive price.”
Trident has also been working with The Galgorm Group in Northern Ireland, and KCEL and Waltons in Scotland, and said it also has “several” other keen and strategically-located distributors now actively promoting and specifying the Spanish-built charcoal oven brand.
Ian Bidmead, financial director of Space Catering Equipment, confirmed the company was on board with Trident and Mibrasa.
He said: “We pride ourselves on taking an innovative approach to kitchen design, and therefore we are always interested when new products come on to the market, but only pursue those that are well thought through and of a high build quality. The Mibrasa certainly fits the bill in this respect. We have a large portfolio of national and regional accounts, and would look to promote it to these customers through demo days and targeted marketing activities.”
