Importers RJ Enterprises are introducing a new item of catering equipment to the UK market that they hope will find favour with caterers looking to freshen up their confectionery offerings.
The East Sussex-based family business, which is the exclusive UK agent of German waffle-making equipment brand Ernst Neumaerker, is now selling a new system capable of producing ‘Baumstriezel Tollpatsch’, a traditional ‘chimney cake’ from the Hungarian region.
The yeast-based pastry is baked over a series of turning spit rollers in a heated cabinet, taking between four and six minutes before it is ready. It is then served with various sweet toppings.
RJ Enterprises director, Rodney Smith, said the unit was included in the firm’s new 2013 catalogue, which came out this month.
RJ Enterprises was founded in 1986 and for many years were bakery engineers, working locally in the South East of England.
Seven years ago the company changed tact and set out to find a European manufacturer it could represent in the UK. That led it to strike an agreement with Ernst Neumaerker to supply its entire product range of waffle, crepe and contact grills.
