Stricken dealers fail to make it through summer


The summer months have already claimed at least two providers of catering equipment, it has emerged.

Truscott Catering Equipment and Commercial Kitchen & Bar Consultants have both become casualties of market consolidation in the past few weeks, with liquidation proceedings involving the pair now firmly underway.

Official notice that liquidators Cooper Williamson had been appointed to handle Commercial Kitchen & Bar Consultants’ case was posted last week.

The Cheshire company, which was involved in the supply and installation of commercial catering equipment, is going through a creditors voluntary liquidation. It was only set up three years ago.

As well as providing commercial cooking and catering equipment, Commercial Kitchen & Bar Consultants was also involved in interior design work.

Meanwhile, only a week previously, Tait Walker Advisory Services was confirmed as the liquidator for Northumberland’s Truscott Catering Equipment after the distributor agreed to be wound up voluntarily.

Truscott billed itself as one of the North East’s leading commercial catering equipment companies, with 40 years’ market experience.

Over the years it provided everything from single item equipment maintenance to large project-managed refurbishments.
