The finalists will be judged across various categories, including ‘Best Main’, sponsored by Steelite International. Festival goers will vote for the People’s Choice award.

The winner of the ultimate judges’ prize, ‘Best of the Best’, sponsored by Santa Maria Foodservice, can look forward to a month of pitches at a Street Feast Market.

Experts from the food world will do the judging, including Michelin-starred chefs Simon Hulstone and Brad Carter, Daily Telegraph food columnist Xanthe Clay, and British Street Food Awards founder Richard Johnson.

Street food is set to be the driving force behind the next wave of casual dining brands in the wake of success stories MEATLiquor and Pizza Pilgims.

Steelite International believes it has unique insight into the move from street to seat, with its Restaurant Startup Guide.

Heather Lovatt, head of marketing at Steelite International commented: “We’ve seen the phenomenal impact of street food on the eating out market in the UK, as we work to supply tableware to restaurants up and down the country.

“Street food traders are today’s most influential trend tastemakers. And the most exciting concepts of tomorrow will have their roots in street food too.

“For traders with an eye on bricks and mortar, the foodservice insight in our Restaurant Startup Guide will give them the best possible start under their own roof.”
