Stangard Design Solutions has stressed that its business is in no way linked to Stangard Food Service Equipment (FSE), which began liquidation proceedings last week.
Rochester-based Stangard FSE is currently in the hands of insolvency practitioners, with a creditors’ meeting scheduled for February 8.
But Gloucestershire-based Stangard Design Solutions — a separate catering design and build specialist — has spoken out to clarify its position and make sure that the industry does not confuse the two businesses.
Martin Fidler, sales and project director of Stangard Design Solutions, said the demise of its namesake has no bearing on its organisation, nor does it affect its ability to continue trading.
“Our business, Stangard Design Solutions Ltd, has been a competitor of SFSE for the last three years and we remain solvent and a successful company,” he pointed out.
The Stangard brand has a long association with the UK catering equipment market, prompting Fidler to explain why both companies shared the same name.
“The person who owns the Stangard name is David Parkinson, who sold Stangard FSE to the current owners three years ago. David is the majority shareholder of Stangard Design Solutions Ltd with Mark Harris and I, the other two shareholders,” he said.
Stangard Design Solutions provides a range of services, including equipment supply, design consultancy, 3D design virtualisation and interior design. Customers include Compass Group, Blackberry owner RIM, Bentley Motors, Lloyds Banking Group, Reading School, Birkenhead College and Chevron.
