Standex Food Service Equipment (FSE) is supporting the Skills’ Show 2012 as a senior competition sponsor in the cooking category.
As part of the sponsorship package, Standex FSE is providing eleven 10 grid models from its new generation of CombiKing ovens. The state-of-the-art ovens incorporate a digital controller and the patent pending METEO humidity control system, allowing competitors to benefit from the latest food service technology.
Under the terms of the agreement, the CombiKing ovens provided for the show are available for purchase at a discounted price by qualifying organisations.
Furthermore, eligible organisations may apply for a support grant, from the Skills’ Funding Agency. Full details of the scheme are available at http://worldskillsuk.apprenticeships.org.uk/the-skills-show/i-want/be-a-sponsoring/skills-equipment-fund.
The Skills’ Show takes place at the NEC, Birmingham, 15 – 17 November 2012. Its aim is to raise the public profile, awareness and recognition of further education, apprenticeships and skills.
The showcase event at the NEC is backed by a campaign of local “Have a Go” activities, designed to encourage greater student participation. Jointly supported by the Skills’ Funding Agency and the National Apprenticeship Service, the show is expected to attract over 100,000 visitors.
Standex FSE’s Managing Director, Steve Loughton, stated: “The students and young people taking part in the cooking competition at the Skills’ Show are the next generation of food service professionals. At Standex, we believe passionately in developing talent for growth, stability and innovation, which is demonstrated by our support of the Skills’ Show.”
