Spirit Group equipment buyer joins dealer


The man responsible for sanctioning all of the Spirit Group’s catering equipment investments has swapped life as a buyer to work on the seller’s side of the fence.

Nick Brassett, catering equipment and operations manager during the past eight years of his 19-year spell with Spirit, has joined YCE Catering Equipment as head of business development.

His role at the Leeds-based distributor will be to develop and grow the operation in new areas, working closely with the company’s senior management team.

“I have joined YCE because I firmly believe in the service and expertise they have to offer and feel that I can add further value to their existing and future portfolio of customers,” he said.

As the catering equipment manager at Spirit, Brassett advised and approved all of the pub group’s kitchen investments, which saw up to £3m a year spent across 50 to 70 projects.

YCE owners Richard Isherwood and Lyndon Moorby said they hoped the appointment would help the distributor grow its customer portfolio and add a “new dynamic” to the company.

“Nick brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise in catering and hospitality as well as innovative solutions to offer our existing and new customers,” they said.
