A company that specialises exclusively in spare parts for commercial dairy and ice cream machines has ramped up its online offering to make it easier for engineers and customers to source the components they need.
The firm says that buying parts for such specialist equipment has traditionally been a “drawn-out and frustrating process” but it hopes the launch of dairybits.co.uk will make things quicker, easier and cheaper than ever before.
Buyers can now search thousands of products listed by category to procure the part in question. The company stocks both OEM and replica parts, covering everything from pumps and pipe fittings to valves and homogeniser spares.
Mark Gudgeon, managing director of Leicestershire-based DairyBits, said: “As the business takes to the online sphere, running costs are naturally reduced and, rather than pocketing the difference ourselves, we pass the savings onto customers. We’re not in it to make a quick buck — rather build and develop long-term relationships and therefore encourage on-going repeat business.”
Gudgeon says the site is protected by 2048bit SSL encryption and hosted on PCI DSS level 1 compliant servers so that customers can be assured that their details are safe when they buy online.
He also adds that it offers features such as a purchase history function, which can be set as a reminder if the products being ordered are an annual purchase, for example.
“This way manufacturers can concentrate on other areas of the business and when it comes to ordering the parts, they receive an email which they simply follow, click ‘purchase’ and wait for the parts to arrive,” explained Gudgeon.
Alternatively, manufacturers which set-up trade accounts can place various parts into groups which are subsequently saved so that when the item is purchase in future the user doesn’t have to search for the parts individually.
