Space Catering has kitted out a new Food Innovation Centre for food supplier, Creed Foodservice, in Staverton, Gloucestershire.
The centre is home to a new state-of-the-art development kitchen as well hands-on cooking workspace and meeting rooms. Located at a separate site to its head office, the facility is in addition to the company’s existing development kitchen and is available to Creed’s customers for menu and recipe development, training, product presentations and workshops as well as taste tests.
Space outfitted the onsite demonstration kitchen with a Rational oven, stone-based deck oven, a Merrychef accelerated cooker and multi-zone induction hob, while the working area features farmhouse style tables and work benches.
As part of the kitchen-fit out Creed has invested in Apic-Base cloud-based software that captures food images, menus and recipe builds then stores them in an on-line photobook. It will be used by the company’s business development chefs, Rob Owen and Millie Morgan when working with customers to develop new recipe and menu solutions.
Creed’s executive business development chef Rob Owen commented: “Creed’s business model is based on working in partnership with its customers – giving them the insights and practical solutions to help build their businesses.
“For many customers being able to get out of their kitchens and into a creative space to brainstorm new ideas, recipes and menus with our business development chefs is invaluable and it’s a service we offer that has grown in the last few years.
“As a result, we wanted to create a larger dedicated space, featuring the latest equipment where we can work with customers. We are delighted to be able to offer Apic-Base too. It is a fantastic tool and we’ve already had positive customer feedback.”
