Space Catering Equipment is aiming to shift its activities in London up a gear after installing a business manager to lead its new office in the capital.
The Gloucester-based company has hired Stewart Osler to take on the post, with the 45-year-old taking up the role earlier this month.
Osler was previously a project sales manager at Brakes Catering Equipment, where he spent 10 years.
Space announced that it was opening an office in Chelsea earlier this year, although getting the right person on board to lead the venture has taken a little longer than it had anticipated.
“Recruitment for this position has taken a while and with extended notice periods it has been a six-month process in total, but we are delighted to announce Stewart is now in position,” Space’s managing director Mike Mellor told Catering Insight.
“I have been spending time back and forth in London but it is great that Stewart can now provide an on-the-ground presence.”
Osler said his role would be to establish the office and move Space’s business in the London area forward.
“It is an exciting role,” he said. “Space is quite innovative and forward-thinking with a good, high quality client base. The role will obviously involve developing the key accounts and looking for new business, but I’ll also be trying to get the London office on the map and making suppliers aware that we are here.”
