Hailsham-based distributor South Coast Catering Equipment joined forces with combi oven manufacturer Retigo UK to outfit the kitchen at The Star, a new hotel in nearby Alfriston.
The Star is the brainchild of Alex Polizzi and her mother Olga. Alex is perhaps best known for her popular Hotel Inspector television series but is also a hotelier in her own right, whilst Olga remains the Rocco Forte Group of hotels’ design director.
Together the Polizzis own The Polizzi Collection of hotels, of which The Star is the latest addition.
The venue has been the subject of the current television series ‘My Hotel Nightmare’, documenting the challenges facing Alex, Olga and their team as they breathe fresh life into The Star, which has operated as a hotel in some shape or form since the 13th Century.
South Coast Catering Equipment, Retigo and the Star’s team arranged for a Retigo Blue Vision 10 Grid oven to be installed, with the manufacturer’s technical services team completing all of the commissioning, whilst one of its development chefs, Danny Burns, was on hand to provide training.
