Smeg in the limelight at kids’ hospice

Smeg has given a 50s-style lime-coloured fridge to Donna Louise Children’s Hospice, Stoke-on-Trent.

A team from the Hilton hotel at St George’s Park, Burton-upon-Trent, was looking for support for a refurbishment of one of the hospice’s rooms and asked Smeg Foodservice Solutions if it could help.

“The Hilton at St George’s Park team giving their own time and resources to get the room looking fantastic at the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice was a challenge and worthy cause we couldn’t ignore,” explained Phil Coulstock, commercial channel director for Smeg UK.

“They were looking for vibrant and fun things in the room to keep the kids busy and happy and they loved the Smeg 50s vintage Fab fridges and really wanted a lime green one; so that’s exactly what they got!”

Commenting on the donation, Nicola Underhill, general manager for the Hilton at St George’s Park, said: “The delivery was perfect timing as we had just finished putting everything back and it arrived.

“It is absolutely fantastic and the fact that you sent the one they really wanted, the lime green, they are going to be so happy. The kids knew we were going to decorate the room, but didn’t know when, and we really appreciate this donation from Smeg Foodservice Solutions.”
