Smeg has introduced a new range of commercial refrigerator and freezer cabinets that are aimed at busy, hot kitchens and operation in UK summer temperatures.
The Series RC cabinets have a patented and ‘tropicalised’ monobloc refrigeration unit, said to ensure high performance even in environments with high temperatures (up to 43°C – certified from IMQ).
The feature is offered on both the 700 and 1,400litre capacity Series RC refrigerated cabinets.
Phil Coulstock, commercial channel director for Smeg UK, said: “Temperature stability is vital to make sure food stuffs are refrigerated at the correct temperatures and Smeg’s latest cabinets have the monobloc refrigeration unit to ensure high performance even in the warmest professional kitchens.
“Temperature stability should also come from excellent levels of insulation in the refrigerator’s construction and features like self-closing doors which Smeg’s units have.”
The new series also features a stainless steel finish and a design to make the units attractive both back and front-of-house.
Other features include castors, soft touch controls, hot gas defrosting and a noise level of 47dB.
The cabinet’s space is designed to be completely usable with no evaporator inside, adding more volume.
It should be possible to change the complete compressor unit is just a few minutes, and the gas used is R404A.
The Series RC cabinets have a 2 year warranty backed with Smeg’s service and support.
