A business set up three years ago to manufacture fabricated stainless steel commercial kitchen products is targeting caterers looking to make the most of limited floor space.
Blue Workshop Ltd, which is based in Rugby, was originally created to market a ‘Made in England’ range of stainless steel kitchen preparing, storing and serving equipment.
But the family-run firm claims it has now developed the capability in its workshop to offer more than just a standard range of products.
Owner Bill Rothwell, who set the company up with his son James, says the business is now working with customers to maximise the space utilisation in their kitchens by ensuring they can accommodate as many items of equipment and facilities as possible.
“We realise that most premises do not have level floors or square walls and that space is at a premium. There is no need to spend extra pounds on bespoke kitchens – we can supply standard products and make them fit wall to wall using simple made to measure corner infills,” he said.
Blue Workshop has been exhibiting at Hospitality this week, where it has attempted to illustrate its credentials by kitting out its 2.5 square metre stand with a mini kitchen unit comprising of a corner table and drawer with waste bin, spice rack, sink unit, hand wash basin, wall shelf and three-tier trolley.
Rothwell says his team has been advising customers on how they can make the most out of a small kitchen space.
Blue Workshop says it has established links with another family firm in Europe, which provides it with all its stainless steel sheet-work. It then adds the rest of the manufacturing process and components to provide complete sinks, benches and tables, trolleys and racks, and cupboards and shelves.
